New York Jets: Frankly, when I saw the first quarter of the game against the New England Patriots this past Sunday, I turned the game off because I did not want to see another offensive breakdown on the Jets' offense's part. 5 yards in the first half. They didn't even move the length of my bedroom in fifteen minutes of playing time. That is pretty pathetic. So as I pushed myself to turn the game on with 7 minutes left in the Second Quarter, I saw that the Jets were driving, and almost in the red zone. So I kept it on, and I saw Mark Sanchez throw a perfect pass to the tall Braylon Edwards, who brought it down with what looked like ease, and as he celebrated, he let his personality take him over as he was called for unsportsmanlike conduct (rubbing the touchdown in the defensive players' face). But that's ok. I like those calls. They give momentum to the scoring team.
The Jets never stopped from there. They gave up one more touchdown with 53 seconds left in the half, and I thought they would be down a touchdown by halftime. But I was wrong. After the 52 second drive that produced a 49 yard field goal by Nick Folk, I was extremely pleased with the way Mark Sanchez had drove the ball down the field, and knew that he would come out in the second half on fire. And I was right. The Jets offense kept driving the ball, and the defense kept pressuring Brady into forcing passes, and two second half interceptions which is definitely not Brady-like. And before you knew it, the Jets were kneeling it down with the time ticking down under ten seconds, and Rex Ryan had a smile on his face.
Three things I liked about this game:
1. Mark Sanchez never gave up, even when he was frustrated in the first half.
2. When Darelle Revis got hurt, Antonio Cromartie really picked up the slack and lifted the team defensively.
3. LaDanian Tomlinson is back to his old, pro bowl self, which should make every Jet fan happy.
New York Giants:
Now, on a more sorrowful note, the Giants looked completely awful last night. And I thought that part of it was because Brandon Jacobs was not played. They played Danny Ware over him. An undrafted, third year player over the man who was the best running back in the league a few years ago. I do not agree with that. And I know, Jacobs has knee problems but still. He has the power. I like Tom Coughlin as the coach, but either him or the offensive coordinator made a big mistake Sunday night. Jacobs has the potential to still be a quality running back. And now, because of the lack of playing time he is getting, he has requested a trade as of today. Nice job Giants. I don't think i'm in the mood to talk about the rest of that horrific night. Good luck in the future, Giants running game.
Philadelphia Eagles: Now, I don't really like the Eagles, but the reports I heard today just shocked me and made me angry at one person: Andy Reid. Michael Vick played his heart out on Sunday, and with help from LeSean McCoy pulled the Eagles away from the Detroit Lions, 35-32. Now, before I talk about Vick, I just want to give McCoy credit for skillfully picking up 120 yards and 3 TDs. Vick threw for 284 yards, ran for another 37, and had a passer rating of 108. That is pretty good. Good enough to keep yourself from being benched the next week, right? Wrong (according to Andy Reid). Reid said today that the previously concussed Kevin Kolb would be starting next week. I'm not going to criticize, but just ask the Philadelphia Eagles fans and Detroit Lions who they think should start next week. I think you will have the correct answer.

Carmelo=New York Knicks
Now Im sure everybody who knows basketball has heard Carmelo Anthony talk about how much he wants to leave the Denver Nuggets and go to another team that would actually win *cough cough* the New York Knicks. He told certain reporters that he is especially looking into the New York Knicks, the New Jersey Nets, and the Houston Rockets. Now. Lets break down each teams rosters, shall we?
Houston Rockets-
At PG: Aaron Brooks, Kyle Lowry, Ishmael Smith
At SG: Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee, Jermaine Taylor
At SF: Shane Battier, Mike Harris, Chase Budinger, Chuck Hayes

Analysis: The Rockets are solid at basically every position except for maybe Center, but If Yao comes back healthy then they could be a definite contender.

Im back
Sorry guys, its been a long summer and it is almost coming to a close. So many huge sports stories have erupted out of this year's summer, including some not so interesting stories, like Roger Clemens getting indicted. Does anybody really care? He knows what he did. He deserves it. Anyway. What I want this post to be dedicated to is Tiger Woods. I know how much all of the people in the world hate him for what he did, and obviously I don't agree with his actions. But he is still my sports idol, and if he doesn't come back from this catastrophe it will one of the biggest losses in history for not only the game of golf, but sports altogether.

NBA Playoffs
These NBA playoffs have been Amazing and I think that the biggest upset series is the Jazz-Nuggets.
After last nights disappointing loss, they are down 3-1 in the series and the miracle run for George Karl is soon to be over. Yet it pains me to watch Carmelo average over 32 points per game and have them be down in the series. They need Billups to step up, J.R. Smith to step up, and the bench to actually put more than 20 up on the scoreboard.
In the Spurs-Mavs series, the Spurs had the mental edge in game 4, causing many arguments and a technical foul on Dirk Nowitzki. And by winning game 4, the Spurs showed that they are not a team centered only around Tim Duncan's performance, as he only had 4 points and 11 rebounds. Their whole starting lineup with the exception of Duncan put up huge numbers (all in double figures) last night, especially the newcomer George Hill who put up 29 points on 11 of 16 shooting.
In the Heat-Celtics game, I still think that because of the Celtics being a win away will go on to the next round, but when D-Wade wants to score, he puts up numbers. His 46 point-5 rebound-5 assist night was pretty helpful for the Heat who still just barely pulled away from Boston. There is not much to say about this because I have a strong feeling that Boston will win tomorrow night with ease.
In the Cavaliers-Bulls game, Lebron James is another superstar who could not be stopped on Sunday. His amazing 37-12-11 game proved that he his up to Kobe's level. His 42 foot jump shot looked like he put as much strength into it as a foul shot. That guy has muscles. And I am routing for Cleveland now because of Joakim Noah's stupid trash talk about Cleveland. "What is there to do in Cleveland?" I don't live there, but I'm pretty sure that it's a booming place now that they have a championship-calibur team. When was the last time Chicago had that? Oh yeah. When Jordan was there. And he isn't anymore.

NBA Basketball
My Picks for the Second Round are as follows:
Denver-Utah: Denver in five. Utah has too many injuries.
Lakers-Thunder: Lakers in five. Thunder doesn't have enough experience. In years to come they will.
Dallas-Spurs: Dallas in five. Dallas will snag a game in San Antonio and win the series back home.
Suns-Portland: Suns in seven. The Blazers will pester and pull away with some wins, but Stoudamire will be too much for the Portland big men.
Cleveland-Bulls: Cleveland in five. The Bulls may take the game tonight by the looks of it now, but I think that Cleveland can do it easily.
Celtics-Heat: Heat in six. After KG's suspension, the Celtics will be out of sync and throw some needed games away.
Orlando-Charlotte: Orlando in six. Charlotte may put up a fight with Wallace, but Superman is too much.
Milwaukee-Atlanta: Atlanta in five. Just like the Thunder, the Bucks will find the playoff rhythm in years to come.

Sorry i was gone my computer wasnt working, and I have a lot to catch up on, including my joy over watching the Blue Devils conquer the way of the Bulldogs in the end.

Ohio over G'town: In this game, although Austin Freeman only had nine points, it was not the lack of scoring from Georgetown. It was the overpowering of Ohio and their offensive abilities. Armon Bassett led the Bobcats with 32 points, and was dominating down the stretch to pull away. Also, contributing was D.J. Cooper with 23 points and DeVaughn Washington with 12 points and 10 boards. Overall, the Ohio offense was too much for the Georgetown defense and although Ohio would lose to Tennessee in the next round, they definitely went farther then anybody expected.
Saint Mary's over Villanova: The way Nova's season ended, nobody really expected them to go that far, but people expected better then this. The round of 32? Many people thought too early for the Wildcats. They allowed Omar Samhan to dominate down low, giving up 32 points and 7 boards to the big man. Scottie Reynolds finished 2-11 shooting with only 8 points. Not a good way to go out as a senior, although Saint Mary's got crushed by Baylor in the next round.
Georgia Tech over Oklahoma State: People may not think of this as an upset, with Dino Gaudio actually moving to the Round of 32 not being a surprise for many. But Oklahoma State has James Andersen, who was one of the most versatile players in the country, and he was held to 11 points, on 3-12 shooting. Yet the Cowboys played good defense too, only allowing Gani Lawal to 14 points and holding Iman Shumpert to 9. Not a strong game by OKST.
West Virginia over Kentucky: I kept saying to friends that Duke had a shot at the title but that we would lose to Kentucky in the Final Four. When the WVU-UK match-up was set, I was sure to have a Duke-UK Final Four showdown. Frankly, I was afraid. But as I kept checking on my phone, WVU just would not give up the lead, thanks to De'Sean Butler, Joe Mazzulla and Kevin Jones, who combined for a 48 points and 15 rebounds. They carried the team over Kentucky, and held Eric Bledsoe to 7 points and Patrick Patterson to 8.
Now what I think about the Duke win may be different then what you readers think, because I bet that the majority of you despise Duke. But, you have to give them some credit. They beat three tough teams, and blew one of them out with ease. A 7 point win over Baylor, a 21 point win over West Virginia, and a 2 point win over Butler. And in two of those games, one of their "Big Three" was having an off game. In the Baylor game, Kyle Singler had 5 points and went 0-10 from the field. In the Butler game, Nolan Smith had 12 points and went 5-18 from the field. Yet when one was down, the other two filled in. When Singler had the bad game, Smith had 29 and Scheyer had 20 points. When Smith had the bad game in the title game, Singler had 19 points and Scheyer had 15. I am happy to say that I can be a proud Duke fan, and that my pick for next year is a repeat, especially if Singler decides to stay. Duke has Kyrie Irving, Joshua Hairston, Tyler Thornton, and Carrick Felix coming to the team next year.

Upsets of the day
Georgetown pulled off an amazing game against 'Cuse today, yet the only thing that really matter to the Orange was Arinze Onuaku, who landed very awkwardly on his knee and was pulled from the game. He will recieve an MRI on saturday, and hopefully says a relative of mine who attended the game, "He will be back for the big dance."
Marquette stunned Villanova today, and I saw it coming from a mile away. Marquette has needed a break this season, and today was the day to get it. Villanova had it coming to them, and today was the day to really recognize that Marquette breakthrough. They may go far in the tournament, and I can guarantee a win over Georgetown.

Big East-ACC-SEC tournament picks
Big East-
Yes, everyone has it that Syracuse is a lock for the tournament win, and they are right. Syracuse is definitely a lock for the win because of their different skills at every point in the game. They have Rautins for the outside game, and Onuaku and Joseph to control the boards and inside game. Scoop Jardine can bring the ball up the court, looking for Rautins coming off of screens to hit from downtown, or dish it down low to Joseph. I am going to the game on Friday, and after an easy third win of the season against Georgetown, I will get to see them play either Marquette or Villanova. Don't count Marquette out of this game, because when Scottie Reynolds gets cold, Villanova is one of the weakest teams in the Big East, and an example of that was on Senior Day, against West Virginia. Syracuse has the calibur to easily take down both of those teams, except maybe Marquette could sneak in some problems.
ACC- As you all may know, I am a Duke fanatic. But that is NOT the reason why I am picking them to win the ACC tourney. I am picking them because there are no teams that have the momentum nor the skill level to keep up with the Blue Devils. Duke's next game will be against either Virginia or BC, and Duke has beaten both of those teams twice already. Virginia is a mediocre team without Sylven Landesburg, and this is just not BC's year. They don't have any quality players besides Joe Trapani, and it is not that hard to double team him. After that, I would guess that Duke would be playing Virginia Tech, which would definitely pose a threat to the Blue Devils, but if Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer hold down the perimeter game, they could maybe hold him to 6-10 points under his average. But that would also mean that if he was to get inside, Thomas, Zoubek and the Plumlee brothers would have to play smart and not foul.
SEC- With what is left of the SEC, I would have to say that Kentucky is almost a lock to become the Champion, the only team that could possibly stand in the way of that is Tennessee, who the Wildcats already lost to once. But if J.P. Prince really steps up and puts up more than 15 points, they definitely have a chance. Wall and Cousins should both have over 15 points, and if both have over twenty then Kentucky has the trophy in their hands for sure.
